Lithuanian Road trip : operation alcohol free
It was a little road trip (700km in two days... it sounds like small but for a country like Lithuania this is already something).
I've joined a friend who had a particular mission... Organizing drinking contests in the 3rd and 4th cities of the country (Klaipeda (west) and Siauliai (north).
I jumped on this occasion which also allowed me to taste the great pleasure of the first cold time which came late this year (they could have awaited February I wouldn't have mind at all... I'm ok with it somehow when you settle in the middle of the desert you can't shout because there is sand everywhere... so i will not complaint... at least for now).
We went early in the morning, at about 11h30 (with -5°c if my memory still works with the cold...) with the microphone king and its powerful Mazda 323F (the F indicate the power which allow you to make the difference between a pussy car (a car for women...) and a real car for guys... Here it is the case, the engine is quite nervous, your ass is at the level of the ground when you drive..It reminds me the BMW Z3 and the fact that today I drive a pussy car myself... but this is not the subject of today's article....
It is a kind a time travel machine, this car is equipped with the brand new tape player (at least the brand now of 1992) and this is thanks to this that we could have listened to 3 Nirvana songs at least. Because, I'm quite used to writing craps but I’m also quite good at speaking all the time about almost everything... Since I'm launched I'm like a radio with a missing ON/OFF button that works an several languages....
Pit stand in Kaunas at 100km from Vilnius to fill the windscreen cleaning liquid (sorry I don't find the exact word for that... In France I could find winter liquid so I had to buy before leaving summer one... so now i have a useless liquid ice cube and warm times are not for now so it will be quite funny to find how I will make this frozen liquid empty to put a -35°C resistant one).
Today it is -10 and there won't have a spontaneous increase of temperature just to for my own pleasure but certainly the contrary in the next days...
So we stopped, but the reason was mostly because it is a local tradition that consists in eating a tasty mega hotdog with a hot coffee... and I confirm the hotdog is hellishly good, you can choose the sausage, the sauces and all this for a ridiculous price....
We went back on the road till Klaipeda (so you can choose to pronounce "KLAI PE DA" or 'KLA I (the French one) PE DA". it is like the French word "haricot" which means "bean" that you can now pronounce with a liaison as "zaricot" it is stupid and useless... My kids will have to pronounce "les haricots" insisting on the "H" and not "zaricot"....

It is the worse photo i could take, the town is nice, some places are beautiful others less. it is a harbor, not a city that is very alive... but it is ok I’ve seen worse...

The next day this is what we could see from inside the car.... the Mazda pilot was cleaning the windscreen....
Then we went to Siauliai. Siauliai for the non Lithuanian is the 4th town of the country in the north of Lithuania, it is the 4th town of the country ok but it is dead... At least the little supermarket named Tilze where the action took place, near a huge one just nearby, named AKROPOLIS.
A wise man told me once: "if a Lithuanian woman invites you to visit Akropolis, be prepared... this isn't an archeological site... we aren't in Greece... Here Akropolis is a mega commercial center and she wants to do some shopping...."
We were in a small supermarket; we were in a strategic place, surrounded by furniture shops... where a couple was passing every 10 min... for a commercial center it could be better...
And even if the guys were looking at us or asking for information, their Mrs. was behind and believe me a Lithuanian woman is never easy in negotiation and they knew that they won't get the authorization to go and play drink games like a 16 year old kid... not the day they have to buy the kid's bed...
We found in extremis 5 participants and a photographer arrived at this very moment... and finally everything went good!
Score to beat: To drink this thing (alcohol free) that look like a coca cola with a strong caramel and bread taste in less than 6/7sec....
